Martin Begay
GANADO, Ariz. — Funeral services for Martin Begay, 64, will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 10, 2011, at the Ganado Presbyterian Church. Walter Jones will officiate. Private burial will be in Ganado Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.
Begay died Oct. 4, 2011, in Mesa, Ariz. He was born March 27, 1947, in Ganado, Ariz., into the Cliff Dwelling People Clan for the One Who Walks around People Clan.
Begay attended Ganado Mission College and earned his Associate of Arts degree from Meritt College in Oakland, Calif. He was an elected official with the Ganado Chapter for 36 years. Begay was part of the Ganado Rodeo Club, DNA board members, SWCD member, Sage Memorial board member, IHS Regional Board Directors and the BIA Roads Committee.
Survivors include his wife Leonora Shorty- Begay; brothers Alvin Begay Sr., Lavon Begay and Thomas Begay; sisters Ruby Kanuho and Irene Curley; and 33 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Isabelle C. Begay; father Alvin Begay Sr., brothers Cecil Begay, Raymond Begay and Nelson Begay; and sisters Judy Ann Begay and Alberta Begay.
Pallbearers will be family members.

Ginilthbah Bennett
TSEYATOH — Funeral services for Ginilthbah Bennett, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Cope Memorial. The Rev. Farris will officiate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
Bennett was born into the Towering House People Clan for the Meadow People Clan. She was a homemaker and a sheepherder.
Survivors include her son Hoskie Yazzie Hoskie; daughter Jennifer Hoskie; sisters Grace Spencer, Rose Spencer, and Louise Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents Felix and Noemie Hoskie and brothers Thomas and Billy John Hoskie.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Tseyatoh Chapter House following the burial.

Baby Dayea
LUPTON — Graveside services for Baby Dayea will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, in Gallup City Cemetery. Becky MacArthur will officiate.
Survivors include her parents Alfonso Resendiz and Erica Dayea; sister Taliya Dayea and grandparents Melissa Dayea and Athony Tahy Jr. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Helen Garcia
GALLUP — Funeral services for Helen Elizabeth Garcia, 87, will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at St. Francis Church. Burial will be at St. Francis Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Church.
Garcia died Oct. 6, 2011, in Gallup. She was born March 25, 1924, in Denver
Survivors include her son Robert A. Aragon; daughters Antoinette Torrez; sisters Angelina Ramirez, Julia Farmer and Gloria Caraveo; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Garcia; parents Perdo and Carlto Aragon and brothers Peter, Zachary, Charles and Vincent Aragon.
The family will receive relatives and friends noon-3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at the Gallup Community Center.

Annie Small
GRANTS — Memorial services for Annie Ruth Small, 89, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Compassion Mortuary.
Small died Sept. 21, 2011. Small was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Grants.
Small was born to William Small and Birdee Murphree. She was married to James Wallace, lived in Prewitt, California and returned to Prewitt in 1970. She was a member of the local Eastern Star and enjoyed living in Prewitt close to family and friends. Small will be remembered for her kindness and beautiful smile. She enjoyed her garden, family, friends, playing games and shopping.
Survivors include her brother Robert Small Sr., of Prewitt, 16 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great- nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William Small and Birdee Murphree; husband Jim; brothers Dwight, Tom, Max, Cliff and two sisters Cleo Newman and Mabel Slater.
A reception will follow at La Ventana after services.
